Simple, proven techniques for managing stress

What is it?


Our Unstress Course has proven hugely successful with adults from all walks of life.  It uses the successful stress management techniques of renowned Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) in a fun and relaxing group setting. It’s not therapy and it’s not suitable for people in crisis.

Unstress gives you the simple, practical and effective tools of CBT to help recognise, manage and reduce stress. Everyone experiences stress - the trick is managing it to your advantage.

How it works

You’ll learn how to recognise and manage the thoughts, emotions and behaviors that make up your personal response to stress so you can build resilience and feel better.

Each course is made up of seven weekly two-hour sessions. Groups are kept small with up to nine people including two facilitators who are trained health professionals.

You’ll be given coping skills, relaxation and problem-solving strategies as well as tips on improving your confidence and communicating better. Of course your privacy and confidentiality is respected at all times.

 

How do I take advantage of Unstress?

If you are enrolled with Harbour Health and HealthWest PHOs you can arrange an appointment with us through your local GP. Courses can also be arranged at places of work and community groups.
