AMHS has been a provider of Mental Health Support Services since 1993. Initially called Accommodation for Mental Health Society, it changed its name in 2003 to Action for Mental Health Society. The name has been a discussion point for a number of years with concern being expressed about the appropriateness of an acronym being used, and the continual confusion from outside the organisation as to the correct order of the letters!

It was agreed in October 2005 that we should have a name change, and it has taken 3 years to select a name, win the legal right to use and protect the name and design and publish to multimedia.

So finally, here we are... Connect Supporting Recovery Inc., Tama Tū Tama Ora which is Standing Together In Wellness.
